I remember always being fascinated that Grandma and Grandpa always had candies next to their bed and every time I would fall for it and my thrills were immediately dashed upon learning they were SUGARLESS candies.

I have been chuckling the last few months on my diet that my bed side drawer is FILLED with sugar free candies and I wish I could share this common experience with them - but moreover show them the vast improvements in the FLAVOR of said sugarfree candies since then.

I cant believe its been decades and I still miss them. I also feel so lucky that I feel them with me when I go to temple. I think that its a portal...

Im just sayin'...

I remember... calling Eric 5 minutes ago.

E: Hello?

L: HI, Can I please speak to Brooke?

E: Why?

L: Because you're useless.

(Without a pause...)

E: BROOKE, PHONE!

He knew.

I remember when Marvin was in his teens and was nervously calling a girl for a date. I was eavesdropping. But all I heard was...." Hi, this is"....and then Marvin proceeded to swallow all the air a person can swallow, and coughed so uncontrollably that he had to hang up without asking for the date, or even identifying himself. I'm not sure if he ever called her back

Ah, yes.  Remember the days before Facebook, when everyone would chat thru AOL Instant Messenger and nothing else. Then came the WARN button.  If you clicked on it, it would add 20% of a warning rate to a person’s screen name.  The funny thing about this is one time in a group chat room we were all warning each other for fun and Uncle Ray didnt know what all the commotion was about. Trying to keep up, he typed "Im warning you!" Instead of clicking the "warn" button. To this day its HILARIOUS!!!
Ok.. so.. I was roughly 15 or so it was 1991ish... Long hair, "heavy" metal, ripped jeans etc.. And Ray and Carol thought.. sure, he can watch out kids (turns out they were right, I was and still am a responsible softy on the inside).. ANYWAY.... So I'm playing with Dan and JoJo in the basement.... pulling off their socks and beating them with it.. and one of the kids find a book on the shelf.. "The Joy of sex".. I am flabbergasted, embarrassed with no idea how to handle the situation.. Those pesky kids thwart my every move to simply move on and forget it.. so, being taller than both of them (oh, the irony now) i opened a ceiling tile and hid it in the ceiling.. to this day, I wonder what happened to it.. Dan grew taller (and taller) and made that his bedroom - so perhaps he remembered it was there (maybe thats why he's so tall?) - perhaps the guys who gutted the mold had a nice surprise??

I REMEMBER WHEN MY DAD GOT ME MY FIRST PET - AND I STILL HAVE HER!!!
This blog is dedicated to my Uncle Ray. He is stuck in the ultimate oxymoron- suffering with painful tinitis and an equally loud and loveable family. This blog space is a quiet place for our family and loved ones (with permission only) who are not on facebook to share stories before they drift away. Please feel free to share fond memories here.
